About this opportunity
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), a Department of Energy civilian agency, is seeking to procure a duplex pumping system for reverse osmosis water transfer with specific technical requirements. The solicitation calls for a system with two pumps capable of delivering 500 GPM at 166' total dynamic head, featuring 304 or 316 stainless steel wetted surfaces and 480 VAC three-phase electrical configuration. Fermi Research Alliance intends to issue a sole source subcontract to Superior Industrial Equipment Company, with interested organizations able to submit capabilities and qualifications by January 27, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. The evaluation will determine whether the procurement will be conducted on a competitive basis, with the government retaining full discretion in this decision. Respondents must complete and return the SARC and PUR-466 representations and certifications forms with their proposal.
The solicitation does not include any specific set-aside designations, and covers multiple NAICS codes including 423830, 333912, 333914, 339991, 423840, and 811310. The specific procurement involves two RO Transfer Pump Assemblies (2K4x3-13HHRV M3 ST/1) and two Danfoss VLT Aqua Drive FC-202 VFDs, with a place of performance at Fermilab in Batavia, Illinois. The system requires long-coupled pump/motor combinations on reinforced foundation baseplates, with variable frequency drives controlled by discharge pressure sensors. Equipment will be delivered F.O.B. to Fermilab, with all freight prepaid. While no specific award value is mentioned, the detailed technical specifications suggest a specialized and potentially high-value procurement for critical laboratory infrastructure.
