About this opportunity
The U.S. Embassy The Hague issued a Request for Quotation for automobile purchase with quotations due September 11, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. local time, submitted electronically to TheHagueContracts@state.gov. The question period closed August 24, 2026.
The Contracting Officer clarified six technical and administrative aspects of the vehicle specification. Alternative transmission configurations with fewer than 8 speeds—including dual-clutch designs—are acceptable if they meet or exceed performance standards for shift responsiveness, smoothness, fuel efficiency, and drivability. Petrol mild-hybrid and petrol plug-in hybrid vehicles are acceptable provided petrol is the primary fuel source and all other requirements are met. Full-length curtain airbags providing head and torso protection to rear occupants satisfy the rear side airbag requirement if equivalent or superior protection is demonstrated.
New, unregistered EU-specification vehicles sourced through authorized manufacturer dealers within the EU are acceptable if unused, carrying full manufacturer warranty valid in the Netherlands, and accompanied by documentation confirming dealer authorization and chain of title. The optional trade-in of a 2019 BMW X1 may be inspected prior to quote submission, with title transferring to the selected offeror upon delivery; trade-in value must be presented as a clearly labeled separate attachment, not a formal line item on the SF-18. The cost of minimum two-year scheduled maintenance must be included within the single unit price on the SF-18 and not itemized separately.
Quotations carry a 30-calendar-day validity period from the due date.
