About this opportunity

The Department of Defense's Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research to identify potential sources for the procurement of C-130 Airframe Structural Components, specifically the Mid-Fuselage and AFT Escape Hatches. These components provide crew members with an emergency escape and depressurization point on the C-130 aircraft. The government does not possess the required technical data to support open competition, as the original equipment manufacturer, Lockheed Martin, maintains the necessary configuration and performance data. As a result, the government intends to award a sole-source contract to Lockheed Martin under FAR 6.302-1, unless other interested parties can demonstrate their capability to meet the requirements by the December 5, 2024 deadline. Respondents are required to email their interest and capability to the provided government points of contact.

This procurement is not set-aside, and the government has not provided any information on the potential award value or budget range. However, the Pre-solicitation notice indicates that Lockheed Martin is the only known source with the required technical data and capabilities to produce these specialized escape hatch components and ensure compatibility with the C-130 aircraft.
