About this opportunity
The United States Capitol Police (USCP) Security Services Bureau has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking advanced gun and threat detection technology solutions capable of detecting exposed or concealed firearms in real-time. The agency requires systems that can enhance public safety and support law enforcement operations across the U.S. Capitol Complex, including temporary and special event locations in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. Vendors must demonstrate capabilities in AI-powered video analytics, detection accuracy rates, real-time alerting mechanisms, and integration with existing systems while maintaining compliance with federal standards. The RFI requests detailed responses addressing system overview, operational capabilities, deployment and support requirements, budgetary costs, certifications, and acquisition strategy. Questions from potential vendors must be submitted electronically to Linh.Williams@uscp.gov by June 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm EST, with final RFI responses due by June 24, 2025, at 2:00 pm EST.
This procurement opportunity does not include any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified vendors. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the documentation. The RFI does not specify award values, budget ranges, or quantity requirements, as this is strictly an information-gathering exercise that does not commit the USCP to any future procurement. The agency explicitly states that this RFI does not constitute a Request for Proposal and that all response costs will be borne solely by interested parties. Any future solicitation will be posted separately through the System for Award Management (SAM) website. The timeline focuses on information collection rather than service delivery schedules, with the primary objective being market research to inform potential future procurement decisions.
