About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Materiel Command Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) for a Modular Open Radio Frequency Architecture (MORA) Aligned RF Amplifier System. This vehicle-mounted system is designed to provide RF distribution and amplification across a wide frequency range, with a common RF interface for transmit antennas and control via MORA Version 2.5 standard. The RFI is restricted to verified Cleared Defense Contractors with an active Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code, who are invited to submit white papers detailing their system capabilities, technology readiness levels, and non-binding cost estimates. Interested parties must submit their responses via DoD Safe by April 4, 2025, with white papers not exceeding 10 pages and including specific details such as company information, business size certification, and technical specifications. The evaluation will focus on the technical feasibility, capabilities, and potential cost ranges for procuring the RF amplifier system.

There are no specific set-aside designations for this opportunity, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned in the documentation. The RFI seeks cost estimates for potential procurement quantities of 50, 100, and 250 systems, though this does not guarantee a future contract. The NAICS code for this opportunity is 334220, categorizing it under Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing. The procurement falls under the PSC category AC13 for National Defense R&D Services, specifically focusing on experimental development for the Department of Defense. While the exact budget range is not specified, the government is conducting market research to develop its acquisition approach and determine if capable sources exist to meet the agency's requirements for the MORA Aligned RF Amplifier System.

Notice text

This is a Request for Information (RFI) for planning purposes, as part of a market survey on potential sources and emerging technologies in support of development of requirements and acquisition strategy for a MORA Aligned RF Amplifier system. The system is intended to be vehicle mounted and will provide RF distribution and amplification across a wide frequency range.  The system will provide a common RF interface from various vehicle systems for distribution to transmit antennas. Control of the system will be via MORA Version 2.5 standard.  A copy of the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements will be provided through Department of Defense (DoD) Secure Access File Exchange (SAFE) upon request. All requests for the draft requirements must be made no later than 31 March 2025.
