About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Headquarters has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking details about medical calculator Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for integration into their Clinical Decision Support (CDS) platform. This special notice is targeted at identifying capable firms that can provide cloud-based clinical calculation tools for VA healthcare providers. The RFI is designed to gather comprehensive information about software capabilities that can support point-of-care decision-making by clinicians. Specifically, the VA is interested in solutions that can seamlessly integrate with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) through FHIR interfaces and provide automated clinical risk assessments and calculations. The opportunity is categorized under NAICS code 518210 for computing infrastructure providers and PSC code 7420 for accounting and calculating machines.
Contractors responding to this RFI must submit their responses by January 31, 2025, directly to William Milline and Cristine Carmody via email. The VA is seeking detailed information about potential SaaS solutions, including vendors' socioeconomic status, existing contract vehicles, FedRAMP authorization, and technical capabilities. Preference will be given to solutions that are cloud-based, require no VA software downloads, and can be implemented through SaaS, managed services, or microservices architecture. Vendors with existing contracting vehicles such as GSA Schedule, Federal Supply Schedule, or NASA SEWP are encouraged to provide specific contract details. The anticipated contract will have a base year with four option years, with work expected to commence in Q3 FY25. Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses and Veteran Owned Small Businesses are asked to submit proof of certification, and all respondents should provide their Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) as part of their submission.
