About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive commercial internet and Wi-Fi services for the JBSA-Lackland Library located at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. The procurement involves an annual service contract with a base year and four potential option renewal years, focusing on wireless and landline internet infrastructure for an 18,000 square foot facility. Key contract requirements include installing a 500 MB dedicated fiber optic circuit, conducting a Heat Map analysis to determine wireless access point coverage, and extending network services from Building 5100 to Building 6114. The Request for Information (RFI) requires potential contractors to submit details about their small business status, socio-economic designations, UEI number, SAM.gov registration, and SPRS registration by February 14, 2025, at 15:00 CST. Contractors must be prepared to provide all necessary management, equipment, labor, and materials for installation and ongoing monthly service delivery.
The contract falls under NAICS category 517112 for Wireless Telecommunications Carriers and does not have a specific small business set-aside designation. The technical requirements mandate 802.11ac or higher wireless standards with dual-frequency access points, and contractors must provide 24/7/365 monitoring with a 4-hour notification requirement for service degradation. The facility will require a minimum of four wireless access points, and all work must be fully operational by May 30, 2025. While specific award value ranges are not explicitly detailed, the contract structure suggests an annual service commitment with potential multi-year engagement. The government emphasizes that this RFI is voluntary and intended solely for technical and acquisition planning purposes, with responses to be used to assess market capabilities and refine procurement strategy for the eventual formal solicitation.
