About this opportunity
The Department of State's US Embassy Madrid is seeking a contractor to replace 430 square meters of carpet on one floor of the Chancery Building. The scope of work includes removal and disposal of existing carpet and supply and installation of new carpet tiles. All contractors must possess all required permits and licenses to do business in Spain and must provide proof of these permits as part of their offer. The Government intends to award the contract to the lowest priced technically acceptable offeror who is a responsible contractor and may award based on initial offers without discussion. The contract will be a firm fixed-price type agreement. The proposal due date is April 1, 2026, with interested companies able to request attendance at a government site visit to inspect the work area.
This is an unset-aside procurement with no identified incumbent contractor or current service provider named in the notice. The anticipated performance period is seven days after the contractor receives the notice to proceed, making this a relatively short-duration project. While no specific budget range is provided in the pre-solicitation notice, the scope is limited to 430 square meters of carpet tile replacement in a single floor of a chancery building. All offerors must be registered in the SAM (System for Award Management) Database prior to contract award in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation provisions. Contractors should note that this procurement falls under NAICS 23833 (Flooring Contractors) and PSC S214 (Housekeeping—Carpet Laying/Cleaning).
