About this opportunity
The United States Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker Air Force Base is seeking to procure remanufacturing services for B-52 Jet Engine Fuel Pumps through a one-time firm fixed quantity contract for 25 units. The procurement involves comprehensive disassembly, cleaning, inspection, maintenance, re-assembly, testing, and finishing to restore the aluminum alloy fuel pumps to like-new condition, with each unit measuring 6.50' h x 8.30' w x 10.50' l and weighing 6.5 pounds. Qualification requirements apply, and contractors must obtain engineering source approval from the design control activity, with existing qualified sources having unique design capability and manufacturing knowledge. The contract includes additional line items for over and above work to be negotiated and requires compliance with AS9100 quality standards, cybersecurity requirements, and comprehensive supply chain risk management protocols. Quotations are due by July 21, 2025, with evaluation based primarily on cost and the ability to meet technical requirements.
This solicitation is designated as an 8(a) sole source procurement, with the government anticipating award to ITT Aerospace Controls as the incumbent contractor. The contract calls for delivery of 2 fuel pumps every 60 days, with early delivery acceptable, and performance will occur at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The procurement includes extensive documentation requirements through the Contract Data Requirements List, covering Commercial Asset Visibility reporting, monthly production reports, government property inventory reports, and production surge capability analysis. Contractors must demonstrate capability in handling government-furnished property, implementing item unique identification marking, and managing hazardous materials given that the fuel pumps may contain residual fuel requiring special packaging and handling procedures. The contract structure allows for potential surge options and includes provisions for cybersecurity compliance under NIST SP 800-171 standards.
