About this opportunity

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), part of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science, is seeking information from potential subcontracting companies that can provide a full-service relocation management solution to support the relocation of its employees. NREL is looking for qualified companies capable of delivering a best-practice relocation program that can manage the planning, coordination, and implementation of employee relocations, including services such as residence packing, transportation, unpacking, and temporary living arrangements. NREL is interested in companies with experience in federal contracts, data reporting capabilities, online portals, policy counseling, benchmarking, and understanding of government policies such as the Federal Travel Regulations and Federal Acquisition Regulation. Responses to the Sources Sought Notice are due by August 20, 2024, and NREL anticipates the resulting agreement to begin in June 2025, with a base period of 12 months and four one-year option periods, for a total potential period of performance of up to 60 months.

NREL has not designated this contract opportunity as a set-aside, but reserves the right to set aside the entire contract or a portion of it for small businesses. The solicitation does not mention any potential incumbent contractors, and the award value or budget range is not specified. The focus is on identifying qualified subcontracting companies capable of providing a full-service relocation management solution to support NREL's employee relocation needs.

The objective of this Sources Sought is to identify potential subcontracting companies that are qualified and capable of continuing a full-service relocation management company to deliver a best-practice relocation program to NREL employees. The overall relocation volume, cost control, and the need to provide a more consistent transferee relocation experience are the deciding factors to seek professional relocation management services.
