About this opportunity
The Department of State is seeking engineering and construction services for the reconfiguration of the mailroom office located on the ground floor of the Chancery main building at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, Korea. The project encompasses two distinct phases: design services requiring comprehensive construction documents including architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural plans, and construction services involving the physical renovation and expansion of the mailroom space into a portion of the main corridor. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM), provide proof of professional licenses, and submit past performance references as part of their qualification requirements. The solicitation requires detailed technical and price proposals to be submitted electronically to the Contracting Officer following the instructions outlined in Section J of the Request for Quotations (RFQ 19KS7025Q0042). The response deadline is July 18, 2025, with the solicitation having been posted on June 26, 2025.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and no incumbent contractors are identified in the solicitation materials. The project scope includes selective demolition, installation of new partition walls, steel doors, overhead coiling shutters, ceiling-mounted air conditioning units, electrical and communication infrastructure, gypsum drywall, rubber floor tiles, and associated finishes. The mandatory performance period is established at 60 calendar days from the notice to proceed, indicating a relatively tight timeline for project completion. The work will be performed at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, South Korea, and the contract is expected to be awarded as a fixed-price arrangement requiring both performance and payment bonds from the successful contractor. The U.S. Embassy will provide certain government-furnished items including wall outlets, communication cables, and an exit sign to support the renovation effort.
