About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 19 has issued a Sources Sought Notice for courier services to support the George E. Wahlen Salt Lake City VA Medical Center. The procurement seeks vendors capable of providing daily, weekly, and as-needed courier services between the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center and 9 Community Based Outpatient Clinics, transporting laboratory specimens, pharmaceuticals, mail, expendable medical supplies, medical records, and other items. This market research notice is designed to determine the availability of potential contractors and establish the appropriate acquisition strategy for a future solicitation. The VA will evaluate responses solely to determine whether to set aside the eventual contract for small or large business competition, using capability statements to assess companies' ability to meet the requirements. Interested contractors must submit their responses via email to crystal.volmar@va.gov by 12:00 PM Mountain Standard Time on July 23, 2025, including company information, contact details, SAM.gov Unique Entity ID, and a brief capability statement.
No set-aside designation has been determined at this time, as the VA is using this market research to evaluate the appropriate acquisition strategy based on available competition among potential contractors. The notice does not identify any incumbent contractors or current service providers for these courier services. While no contract values or budget ranges are specified in this pre-solicitation notice, the scope indicates regular service requirements with courier operations scheduled Monday through Friday between multiple healthcare facilities. The transported items are expected to average no more than 50 pounds per delivery, and all pickups and deliveries must be completed on the same day with no overnight storage permitted in vehicles, offices, or residences. The service area encompasses the Salt Lake City VA Medical Center, 9 Community Based Outpatient Clinics, and other locations as needed by the SLC VAMC Laboratory and Mail Room. This is strictly a market research notice, and no formal solicitation document exists at this time, with no contract awards anticipated from this announcement.
