About this opportunity

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Region 1, intends to solicit tree removal and forest area cleanup services at its Maynard, Massachusetts campus facility, with an RFI response deadline of June 25, 2026. No set-aside applies to this procurement.

Work is performed at the FEMA Maynard campus located at 63/65 Old Marlboro Road, Maynard, MA 01754. The scope encompasses perimeter brush clearing and selective tree removal along approximately 1,235 feet of trails (6–10 feet depth) to mitigate tree fall risks onto neighboring residences; removal of high-risk, standing dead, and declining trees to prevent fence line and property damage; creation of a new access road to improve visibility and site security; forestry mulching and thinning across a 95,000 square foot area to reduce wildfire risk; and removal of snow-damaged, bent, and leaning trees encroaching on the fire roadway and perimeter fence. All brush and vegetative debris will be chipped and broadcast throughout wooded areas to promote decomposition and reduce fire fuel buildup; larger wood material will be stacked in a designated location; and white pine trees will be hauled away for off-site disposal. Contractor performance is limited to on-site work between 6:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The period of performance does not exceed 120 calendar days from contract award.

FEMA has issued an RFI under NAICS 561730 (Landscaping Services) and PSC S208 to gather market information. RFI responses are due electronically by 11:00 AM EST on June 25, 2026, to Karley Hoyt (Contracting Officer) and Anhur Maklef (Contract Specialist). Questions must be submitted by 9:00 AM EST on June 18, 2026. Responses must include company information and UEI number, a three-page capability statement, and responses to four specific questions on prime contractor capacity, percentage of self-performed work, technical ability to perform at least 50 percent of personnel costs with own employees, pricing models and labor rates, and similar projects completed in the past three years.
