About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 23 seeks on-site radiation oncology therapeutic medical physicist services at the Minneapolis VA Healthcare System, with proposals due July 30, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. CDT. This is a fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract procured under the GSA Federal Supply Schedule vehicle.

Place of performance is One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55417. The requirement is for two full-time board-certified therapeutic medical physicists—one Chief Therapeutic Medical Physicist and one staff Medical Physicist. The Chief Physicist must possess at least five years of post-board certification experience and specific expertise with Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators, RayStation treatment planning systems, ARIA record and verify systems, and multiple treatment modalities including IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, and SRS. The staff Medical Physicist must be board-certified with at least two years of continuous working experience within the last three years. Both positions require credentialing and privileging under VA Directive 1100.20 and compliance with American College of Radiology and American Society for Radiation Oncology standards. Physicists work a minimum of 80 hours every two weeks, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the Chief Physicist required on-site during clinical hours at least 50% of the time. Backup physicists must be fully credentialed and available within 30–60 days of contract start.

The base contract period runs September 16, 2026 through September 15, 2027, with two optional one-year renewal periods. The minimum guarantee is $150,000 with a maximum contract value of $5 million across all periods. Annual pricing should reflect 2,256 hours per physicist. The facility operates two TrueBeam linear accelerators and one Canon CT Simulator, currently staffed by zero physicists, serving approximately 450 patients annually. The NAICS code is 621111, Offices of Physicians; the PSC is Q522, Medical-Radiology. Contractors must execute all four Section D attachments addressing Immigration and Nationality Act compliance, organizational conflicts of interest, contractor rules of behavior, and the quality assurance surveillance plan. Amendment 0002 extended the original July 20 deadline to July 30, 2026.
