About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 17, issued a Special Notice on October 22, 2026, announcing intent to award a sole-source Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract to Natera, Inc. for proprietary molecular genetic reference testing services, with responses due by October 30, 2026.
The requirement covers two proprietary laboratory tests: Signatera residual disease testing (CPT codes 81479, 81455; estimated 35 units) and Prospera molecular expression transplant assessment testing (CPT code 81479; estimated 25 units). These tests support evaluation and monitoring of transplant patients and cancer residual disease at Veterans Integrated Service Network 17 facilities in Texas. The five-year IDIQ will be firm fixed price.
Natera is identified as the sole provider because no authorized distributors, third-party laboratories, or alternative clinical sources exist for these proprietary assays. Only Natera possesses the necessary technology, reagents, and bioinformatics platforms; the tests cannot be substituted or performed by other laboratories.
This notice explicitly is not a solicitation or request for quotes but serves for information and planning purposes only. Interested parties may submit capability statements demonstrating ability to perform equivalent proprietary testing. The government retains discretion to compete the requirement. Responses should be submitted to Contract Specialist Susan Flores at Susan.Flores2@va.gov. The solicitation number is 36C25727Q0058.
