About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Space Command, specifically the 30th Contracting Squadron, is seeking a contractor to provide lifting equipment support services for the 2nd Space Launch Squadron at Vandenberg Space Force Base. The 12-month firm fixed-price contract requires experienced labor, equipment, materials, and transportation to perform annual proof loads and non-destructive inspections (NDI) for Minotaur I and IV lifting equipment. Potential contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and will be evaluated using a lowest-price technically acceptable (LPTA) approach. Questions regarding the solicitation are due by May 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM PST, with quotations required to be submitted via email by May 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM PST. Offerors must provide a one-page cover letter, a 20-page technical approach, and a pricing sheet matching the specified Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) structure.
The solicitation is set aside for total small business participation under NAICS code 811310, with a small business size standard of $12.5M. The place of performance is Lompoc, California, and the contract involves supporting lifting equipment for space launch operations. The pricing sheet includes two primary CLINs: one for Minotaur I Lifting Equipment (comprising 8 35-ton chain shackles, 2 lifting beam assemblies, and various slings) and another for Minotaur IV Lifting Equipment with similar but slightly different equipment specifications. The government reserves the right to cancel the Request for Quotation (RFQ) or award no contract, and all quotations must remain valid for 60 days after the closing date. Contractors will be responsible for performing certified proof loading to 200% rated capacity, conducting visual inspections, tagging equipment, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and Air Force policies.
