About this opportunity

The US Geological Survey (USGS) Coastal and Marine Hazards and Resources Program is seeking a professionally facilitated design-focused workshop to improve storm response workflows and data accessibility. The agency aims to update its existing Coastal Change Hazards (CCH) Timeline for Storm Forecasts and Response and address backend challenges that currently hinder real-time data sharing and emergency response capabilities. This Request for Information (RFI) is a market research effort to identify potential contractors who can conduct a comprehensive workshop addressing these objectives. Interested firms must submit their responses by April 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM Pacific time, including their company information, a capability statement, and size status. Respondents must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) number and be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM).

The procurement is classified under NAICS code 611430 for Professional and Management Development Training, with a size standard of $15.0 million. The opportunity is not set aside for any specific small business designation, though small businesses, including 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Women-Owned, and Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Businesses are highly encouraged to participate. The workshop is planned to occur from March to September 2025, with a three-phase approach involving planning meetings, a 3-day in-person workshop (with virtual participation options), and a synthesis of findings. Key deliverables will include an interview guide, high-level summaries of interview and workshop learnings, workshop agenda, and presentation materials. While no specific award value is mentioned, the project focuses on improving USGS's storm preparation, forecast, and response product capabilities through a structured design-focused workshop.
