About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health Clinical Center intends to sole-source the procurement of one FUJIFILM Sonosite LX Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) System with specialty transducers, with a response deadline of September 27, 2026. This is a sole-source acquisition with no set-aside.

Performance occurs at the NIH Clinical Center's Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in support of critical pediatric care. The system must deliver portable, healthcare-grade diagnostic imaging with 2D imaging, Color and Spectral Doppler, Tissue Harmonic Imaging, needle enhancement technology, DICOM connectivity, and secure wireless networking. The procurement includes five specialty transducers (C5-1, L19-5, P5-1, C10-3, and P11-3) to support cardiac, abdominal, pulmonary, vascular access, musculoskeletal, neonatal, and pediatric imaging applications. Manufacturer installation, end-user training, integrated educational resources, and a minimum five-year comprehensive warranty covering both system and transducers are included requirements.

The PICU requires real-time bedside imaging for rapid diagnosis and ultrasound-guided procedures including vascular access, cardiac assessments, pulmonary evaluations, and abdominal imaging. The sole-source justification cites FUJIFILM Sonosite as the recognized industry leader in point-of-care ultrasound technology with extensive critical care experience. The single platform approach minimizes equipment redundancy while supporting broad diagnostic capability.

NAICS 334510 (Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing); PSC 6525 (Imaging Equipment and Supplies: Medical, Dental, Veterinary).
