About this opportunity
The Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking quotes for a Prime GLOBAL service agreement covering Metrohm ion chromatography equipment used by the Naval History and Heritage Command's Underwater Archaeology Branch. The procurement specifically requires comprehensive service coverage for a Metrohm 930 Compact Ion Chromatography Unit, 941 Eluent Prep Module, and 858 Professional Autosampler, which are critical for analyzing chloride content in solutions used to treat archaeological artifacts from U.S. Navy sunken military craft. The service agreement must include performance maintenance, pre-scheduled maintenance visits, priority service, firmware updates, on-site repairs, and training discounts. Questions regarding the solicitation must be submitted by 11:00 AM EST on August 15, 2025, and quotes are due electronically by 10:00 AM on August 18, 2025. All quotes must be held firm for thirty days and include any required licensing agreements or terms of service documentation.
The solicitation was modified from a 100% small business set-aside to full and open competition, though the Brand Name Justification indicates Metrohm USA Inc. is identified as the sole source provider due to the specialized nature of the equipment and services. The contract structure includes a base year plus four additional years of service coverage, with an estimated delivery date of September 15, 2025. The NAICS code was changed from 541519 to 334419 (Other Electronic Component Manufacturing) with a size standard of $34,000,000. The equipment and services will support operations at the Washington Navy Yard, Building 46, in Washington, DC, where the specialized conservation laboratory analyzes solutions critical to preserving artifacts from underwater archaeological sites.
