About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health, Office of Logistics and Acquisition Operations, is procuring preventive maintenance and repair services for a Gatan BioContinuum system with K3 direct electron detector and energy filter on a Titan Krios G4 microscope, and a Gatan Alpine Vista direct electron detector on a Talos Arctica microscope, with proposals due August 10. This is a non-competitive acquisition awarded under FAR 12.603 authority to Gatan, Inc., and no small business set-aside applies.

Place of performance is Durham, North Carolina (NIEHS, Research Triangle Park). The contractor must provide unlimited telephone technical support during normal business hours (Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. local time, excluding Federal holidays), one annual preventive maintenance visit per system, and unlimited on-site repair service calls. Preventive maintenance must include calibration, inspection, testing, and software updates performed by factory-certified technicians with written reports submitted within two business days. All technicians must be factory-certified and trained specifically on both systems and must comply with NIEHS site access and security procedures. Estimated workload includes two preventive maintenance visits, 12 routine repair service calls, and 12 emergency repair service calls annually. Routine repair calls require attempted remote resolution before on-site escalation within 48 hours; emergency repair calls also require 48-hour response. Performance metrics require 95 percent timeliness for service call response and repair completion, and 95 percent timeliness and accuracy for submitted reports. The contractor must develop quality control procedures and designate a quality control point of contact for customer complaints. The NAICS code is 811210, Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance; the PSC is J066. Award value does not exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. Responses must include pricing, delivery timeframe, UEI, TIN, business size certification, and proof of active SAM registration; submit to Francisca Wagstaff at wagstaff@nih.gov.
