About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for maintenance and repair services of specialized scientific equipment at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS).
The contractor must provide comprehensive maintenance and repair services for two pieces of Gatan/Ametek equipment: a BioContinuum system with K3 direct electron detector and energy filter installed on a Titan Krios G4 microscope, and an Alpine Vista direct electron detector on a Talos Arctica microscope. Services include unlimited telephone technical support during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. local time, excluding Federal holidays), one annual preventive maintenance visit per covered system, and unlimited on-site repair service calls. Preventive maintenance must include calibration, inspection, testing, and software updates performed by factory-certified technicians, with written reports submitted within two business days. Routine repair calls require the contractor to attempt remote resolution before escalating to on-site support within 48 hours; emergency repair calls also require response within 48 hours. The contractor must use only factory-certified technicians trained specifically on both systems and must comply with NIEHS site access and security procedures. Estimated workload includes two preventive maintenance visits, 12 routine repair service calls, and 12 emergency repair calls. Performance objectives require 95 percent timeliness for service call response and repair completion, and 95 percent timeliness and accuracy for submitted reports. The contractor must develop quality control procedures addressing these performance metrics and provide a designated quality control point of contact for customer complaints.
