Project Description: (Approx. quantities)


This is a project to replace lighting, conductors in the Powerhouse, Tunnels, Surge tank Areas, Intake structure and at the Spillway at the Garrison Dam in North Dakota. The base contract calls for supply of LED light fixtures, conductors, switches and receptacles for most of these areas with options to install the supplied material and to supply the remaining material. Between the base and options an approximate total of 1600 fixtures are being replaced along with associated switches, outlets and wiring. Fixture lumens range from 3,500 to 60,000 depending on the type of fixture being installed. Style types range from wall mounted to surface and pendant mounted. A number of the areas have high ceilings and most of the circuits will require grounds to be installed with a number of areas having the old conductors removed and new conductors installed.


The estimated construction cost of this project is between $750,000 to $1,000,000.

The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 550 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bonding documents including the power of attorney shall bear an original signature by an officer of the surety.

On or about 14 July 2016, this office will issue Invitations for Bid for construction of the Powerhouse Lighting upgrades, Garrison Dam, ND. The solicitation will close on or about 16 August 2016.


This solicitation is RESTRICTED TO SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION.


A site visit date and time will be issued with the advertisement package.
