About this opportunity

The 628th Contracting Squadron of the Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command is seeking repair services for a 2008 Oshkosh Striker 1500-gallon aircraft rescue fire fighting vehicle located at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. This single-source procurement, issued under FAR 13.106-1(2)(b), requires comprehensive repair of the vehicle's power divider unit to restore it to full operational status. Key contract requirements include completing all diagnostic assessment, component removal, repair or replacement of faulty parts, and system reinstallation and verification within 30 calendar days of vehicle delivery, with the contractor providing all necessary personnel, tools, equipment, and labor while complying with security protocols at JB Charleston. Although this is a non-competitive single-source notice of intent to award, the government will consider capability statements, proposals, or quotations from other responsible sources at its sole discretion to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement instead. All responses and questions must be submitted to SSgt Barnave Thanis (barnave.thanis@us.af.mil) and Matthew Michel (matthew.michel@us.af.mil) no later than 12:00 PM Eastern Time on January 15, 2026.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and is intended to be awarded as a single source to Fire Apparatus Service Technician LLC (CAGE 9CFY0) of Fort White, Florida, identified as the only authorized Oshkosh service provider with the specialized parts, training, and tools required to meet the repair specifications. The estimated contract value is $67,000.00, with market research determining that no alternative vendors possess the proprietary capabilities necessary to complete the 30-day repair timeline. The accelerated schedule is critical to supporting the 2026 Joint Base Charleston Air Show, maintaining fire response capabilities for JBC, Charleston International Airport, and Boeing facilities, and preventing mission stoppage for airfield operations. The contractor must provide a warranty consistent with standard commercial practice and is responsible for any damage caused during maintenance. The government will arrange vehicle transport, and the repair may be conducted by any authorized retailer in the continental United States.
