QUESTION

Part I - The Schedule, Section B, states that the PDPs can be ordered in various colors. According to Drawing 8642400, when the PDPs are specified as green, the deadfront panels are painted with semi-gloss enamel. However, when tan is specified, the 25KW PDP is to be painted with lusterless CARC paint (section 5.6 of the drawing). There is a cost difference between semi-gloss enamel and CARC. Is there some way of getting at least an estimate of how many 25KW PDPs will be ordered with each color?

ANSWER

The government will waive the requirement for CARC paint for the 25 kW PDP, paragraph 5.6 on drawing 8642400.

QUESTION

The first one is on drawings 8642366, 8642309, 8642574, 8642624, and 8642416 there is a call out for nameplates per MIL-P-15024 Type N. In our research we found the Specification MIL-DTL-15024F and it only go to a Type L.

ANSWER

The correct name plate type per MIL-P-15024N (now MIL-DTL-15024F)specified on the drawings 8642366, 8642309, 8642574, 8642624, and 8642416 is TYPE H. The government is going to correct this typo and update these drawings.

QUESTION

Drawing number 8642383 Latch the suggested source have discontinue the item and there is no replacement for it which matches the hole pattern. Could you provide a replacement?

 ANSWER

The government is aware that the latch sited on the drawing 8642383 is obsolete. The contractor shall find a suitable substitute which is form, fit, and function the same as the obsolete part number and submit an ECP in order to receive government's approval of the replacement part number. The ECP shall be submitted for the government's approval/disapproval prior to fabrication of FA units.

QUESTION

Various PDP assembly drawings call for "Class L" connectors (input and output) per MIL-C-22992. MIL-C-22992 includes a QPL. Please confirm that only vendors approved and on the QPL will be acceptable for this procurement. Several vendors manufacture non-QPL versions of these connectors.

ANSWER

The power distribution panels were design to meet requirements of the MIL-DTL-29183C (it is referenced on the drawings).
The L-type connectors from the QPL list are preferred but not mandated. The proposed connectors shall meet all requirements of MIL-C-22992 and be form, fit, and function equivalent to MS connectors specified on the drawings. Contractor shall submit ECP in order to receive government approval for new proposed connectors prior to start of fabrication of FA units. In no way it shall be misconstrued, that the government will accept commercial connectors which do not meet requirements of MIL-C-22992.
