b. Functioning of phase indicating lights and circuit breakers (CBs).
c. Voltage, current, and phase sequence at each output receptacle.
A.5.2.5 Ground fault circuit interrupter test (GFCI). This test shall be in accordance with MIL-DTL-29183C paragraph 4.5.2.2.
A.5.2.6 High temperature test. This test shall be in accordance with MIL-DTL-29183C paragraph 4.5.4.2, except the PDP shall operate satisfactorily during the high temperature exposure and after return to room ambient conditions at the reduced CBs current loading in accordance with A.5.4.
A.5.2.7 Low temperature test. This test shall be in accordance with MIL-DTL-29183C paragraph 4.5.4.1, except the PDP shall operate satisfactorily during the low temperature exposure and after return to room ambient conditions at the reduced CBs current loading in accordance with A.5.4.
A.5.2.8 Humidity test. This test shall be in accordance with MIL-DTL-29183C paragraph 4.5.4.7, except after conclusion of the fifth cycle the PDP shall operate satisfactorily at the reduced CBs current loading in accordance with A.5.4.
A.5.2.9 Drop test. The purpose of drop test is to demonstrate the adequacy of the structural strength of the PDP when dropped on to a hard surface. The following drop tests shall be performed on a hard concrete pad with all safety precaution. The drop test shall not affect the PDP operation by deformation or shock loading.
A.5.2.9.1 Flat drop. The FA/FP PDP shall be lifted 9 inches from the pad and allowed to fall freely, impacting the concrete with the PDP bottom. The PDP shall be visually inspected for structural damage.
A.5.2.9.2 Corner drop. With one corner of the PDP supported by a 4 inches wood cube, raise the opposite corners 9 inches above the concrete and allow falling freely. This test shall be conducted once. The PDP shall be visually inspected for structural damage.
A.5.2.9.3 Functional test. After drop tests, visually examine (internally and externally) PDP components for fatigue and, if no critical fatigue or deformation determined, conduct performance demonstration test for 30 minutes. All structural deformations and damages shall be recorded and reported, and the serviceability of the tested PDP(s) shall be evaluated by the cognizant Engineering and Quality Assurance personnel.
A.5.3. Waiver. A waiver may be granted for the high temperature, low temperature, and humidity tests if contractor previously submitted and received government’s approval for test reports on the same PDP part numbers delivered to the Government on previous contracts.
