About this opportunity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award a sole source purchase order to the National Jewish Health laboratory for plasma complement components testing services and expertise. The CDC's Chronic Viral Diseases branch requires these services to support their research on the role of the complement pathway in Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) pathogenesis. The National Jewish Health lab is the only CLIA certified lab that can perform the comprehensive testing required, including assays for C3 protein, Bb protein, Factor B, and Factor H, from a single, low-volume sample. The estimated procurement amount is unknown, and the rationale for the sole source justification is based on the unique capabilities and proprietary data of the National Jewish Health lab.
This is not a set-aside opportunity. There are no potential incumbents or current contractors identified. The award value is unknown. The testing services are required to support the CDC's ongoing research program on the complement pathway in ME/CFS.
