About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command has issued a Special Notice for the installation of a second 24/7 access card reader at the PKA - Smartnet Access 6 Fitness Center. The new access point will be located at the entrance on the South side of the main lobby, providing easier access and reducing congestion for customers who use the larger South parking lot.
The purpose of this requirement is to improve customer convenience and access to the Fitness Center. The government is seeking a contractor who can provide a compatible Smartnet system that can authenticate users, including non-CAC holders, without storing PII. The contract will include installation, training, and warranty support. This opportunity is set aside for Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Businesses, and the government has determined that SMARTNET INC is the sole responsible source capable of fulfilling this requirement. The contract award period is anticipated to be 12 months.
Notice text
6 FSS is requesting to install a second 24/7 access card reader. The Fitness Center currently has one access point to the facility located at the corner of the facility facing the North parking lot. This second reader would be installed at the entrance to the South side of the main lobby and would allow customers to use the South parking area which is significantly larger than the North side parking lot. The South side parking lot is popular for users who use the running tracks and use the outdoor Pavilion as well. The current impact for not having a second card reader on the South side of the facility is that customers are forced to walk around the facility depending on what activity they plan on conducting. A second card reader will also reduce the amount of foot traffic at the one reader that we currently offer reducing congestion.
