About this opportunity
The 22nd Contracting Squadron of the Air Mobility Command at McConnell Air Force Base is conducting a Sources Sought market research announcement for a telecommunications infrastructure upgrade project. The procurement involves Cat-6 and fiber installation services for two specific buildings (B1127 and B1200), requiring a contractor to engineer, furnish, install, and test (EFI&T) new network cabling infrastructure. Contractors will be responsible for removing existing outdated Cat-3/Cat-5 premise wiring and installing new Cat-6 cabling, including a 12-strand single-mode plenum-rated fiber backbone cable between communication rooms. This pre-solicitation notice is designed to identify qualified vendors capable of executing the technical requirements, with responses due by April 23, 2025. Interested parties are instructed to submit capability statements with the subject heading "McConnell AFB Cat 6 Rewiring" without including pricing information.
The Sources Sought announcement indicates no specific set-aside designation for the contract, suggesting it will be open to all qualified contractors. The project scope includes comprehensive infrastructure upgrades for two buildings, involving installation of new 45U floor-mount racks, 48-port Cat-6 patch panels, and extensive cable management systems. While no specific budget range is provided, the technical complexity suggests a significant investment in network infrastructure modernization. The work will involve detailed documentation requirements, including as-built drawings, weekly status reports, and installation test plans, with a one-year warranty on workmanship and equipment. The precise performance timeline will be determined based on the contract award date, with the expectation that all work will be completed within the scheduled timeframe. The procurement falls under the NAICS category 541513 for Computer Facilities Management Services and PSC category DG11 for IT and Telecom Network Services.
