About this opportunity
NASA Langley Research Center, via the NASA Shared Services Center, seeks a PerkinElmer Dual Range Mid-Infrared Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer or equivalent, with quotes due October 23, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Central Time and questions due October 21, 2026. The procurement is set aside for total small business.
Place of performance is Hampton, Virginia (NASA Langley Research Center, Building 1146). The spectrometer must measure sample absorption and transmission across 14,700 to 350 cm⁻¹ with automated range switching between MIR and NIR without sample movement or accessory changes. Design requirements include ISO 9001 certification, sealed and desiccated optics, electronic source stabilization, and dual temperature-stabilized detectors. Performance specifications mandate signal-to-noise ratios better than 50,000:1 RMS for standard acquisition and 174,000:1 RMS for one-minute acquisitions, wavenumber precision of 0.008 cm⁻¹, and wavenumber accuracy of 0.02 cm⁻¹ at 2,000 cm⁻¹. Deliverables include the spectrometer, power cords, Windows 11 compatible workstation with 24-inch monitor, instrument control and data analysis software, ATR accessory, NIR reflectance accessory, and NIR 60mm spinner accessory. The system must support plug-and-go capability with automatic accessory recognition and provide a minimum one-year manufacturer warranty covering parts, labor, travel, and on-site service. Period of performance is 30 days after receipt of order. NAICS 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing; PSC 6640, Laboratory Equipment and Supplies. Award will be made to the responsible offeror submitting the lowest price technically acceptable offer.
