About this opportunity
The Naval Air Systems Command is conducting market research to identify potential sources for the Precision Attack Strike Munition (PASM), a long-range weapon system for the United States Marine Corps. The procurement seeks contractors capable of rapidly developing, integrating, prototyping, testing, and qualifying a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL), network-enabled precision weapon with specific technical performance requirements. This sources sought notice is primarily designed to refresh the list of responsible sources based on updated requirements from the USMC, with the government considering an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) for the prototype effort. Interested parties are required to submit capability statements addressing their relevant experience, technical approach, risk mitigation strategies, and ability to meet stated requirements. The response deadline is November 5, 2024, which represents 15 working days from the original posting date of October 15, 2024.
The procurement does not have a specific small business set-aside designation and is categorized under NAICS code 336414 for Guided Missile and Space Vehicle Manufacturing. The government's objective is to award an OTA in fiscal year 2025, with a requirement to deliver 36 fieldable prototypes by fiscal year 2027. While specific budget ranges are not explicitly stated, the technical requirements indicate a complex and high-value prototype development effort focused on a sophisticated long-range precision weapon system. The weapon must meet stringent performance thresholds for range, speed, and network integration capabilities. Importantly, this sources sought notice is purely for market research and information gathering, and the government maintains no obligation to ultimately award a contract or OTA as a result of this announcement.
