About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command Fort Hood is soliciting proposals for the procurement of two Pantheon 3D printers, specifically the Pantheon Design HS-Pro ruggedized, high-speed 3D printer systems. The printers must meet stringent technical requirements including a minimum build volume of 400mm x 400mm x 300mm, capability to print with carbon- and glass-fiber reinforced polymers, production speed of at least 1 kg/day, and advanced features such as 500°C nozzle temperature, active chamber management, and closed-loop precision motion control. The solicitation requires offerors to complete the Salient Characteristics document, provide quotes using the Technical Specification attachment, and demonstrate qualification for this specialized requirement. Evaluation factors include technical ability, past performance, and price. The solicitation was posted on September 12, 2025, with responses due by September 19, 2025, at 12:00 noon Central Time.

This procurement is designated as a 100% Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS code 532490 with a size standard of $40 million. The contract includes not only the two HS-Pro printers but also comprehensive accessories and consumables for a 6-month period, comprising various fiber materials (99 Kgs carbon fiber nylon, 12 Kgs carbon fiber co-polyester, 12 Kgs glass fiber nylon), hardened steel nozzles, printheads, print cores, and servicing kits. The delivery date is firm at November 14, 2025, with performance at Fort Cavazos, TX 76544. The procurement is being conducted under FAR 13.106-1(b)(x) as a simplified acquisition, citing that only one source is reasonably available for these specialized ruggedized 3D printing systems designed for demanding operational environments. The printers are intended to support the Army's Transition in Contact requirements, enabling rapid on-site production of mission-critical components during combat operations.
