About this opportunity

The Defense Health Agency is seeking a contractor to provide semi-annual maintenance services for three Hamilton Robotics Automatic Liquid Handler Systems used by the MRSN (Microbial Resistance Surveillance Network). The primary objective of this contract is to support the MRSN's mission of cataloging and testing multi-drug-resistant organisms by ensuring the continued operational effectiveness of these critical laboratory instruments. The maintenance contract includes two preventative maintenance visits per year and optional equipment software training for up to two end users. The opportunity is currently in a pre-solicitation phase with a Request for Information (RFI) posted on GSA, and responses to the RFI are due by June 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM ET. Potential contractors should be prepared to submit detailed technical capabilities and meet the specific requirements for laboratory instrument maintenance in the analytical and scientific research domain.

The contract does not have a specific set-aside designation and falls under the NAICS category of Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing (334516). While the exact award value is not specified in the pre-solicitation notice, the scope suggests a focused, specialized service contract for maintaining sophisticated laboratory equipment. The contract will cover semi-annual maintenance visits, with the potential for additional optional training and support services. Contractors will need to demonstrate expertise in maintaining Hamilton Robotics Automatic Liquid Handler Systems and understanding of the technical requirements for supporting microbiological research equipment. The contract's timeline appears to be aligned with the fiscal year, with maintenance visits planned twice annually and the initial RFI response deadline set for June 10, 2025.

Notice text

The objective of this requirement is for the Contractor to provide semi-annual maintenance services, optional equipment software training, and optional application support for three existing Hamilton Robotics Automatic Liquid Handler Systems owned by the MRSN. The semi-annual maintenance services will include two visits per year by the Contractor to perform preventative maintenance. Additionally, equipment software training and application support will be provided on an optional basis for up to two end users of the equipment. These services will allow the Government-owned equipment to be used to continue supporting the MRSN’s mission to catalog and test multi-drug-resistant organisms for antibiotic resistance patterns and ascertain as much related information, such as mechanisms of resistance and types of carried resistances genes, as possible. An active RFI is currently posted on GSA.
