About this opportunity

The United States Coast Guard is seeking proposals for the overhaul of various gearboxes used on the USCG MH-60T helicopter fleet, including Main Gearboxes (Major and Minor), Input Module Gearbox, Intermediate Gearbox, Tail Rotor Gearbox, and Accessory Gearbox components. This procurement is issued under solicitation number 70Z03824RJ0000012 and follows FAR subparts 12.6 and 15, with the NAICS code 336411 (Aircraft Manufacturing) and a small business size standard of 1,500 employees. All contractors must demonstrate the ability to provide complete traceability to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), maintain ISO 9001 compliant quality systems, and provide airworthiness certificates and certificates of conformance in accordance with FAA regulations. The work must be performed according to OEM component maintenance manuals and all applicable federal aviation standards. The current proposal deadline is September 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM EDT, following multiple extensions from the original posting date of October 11, 2024.

This is an unrestricted procurement with no set-aside designation, though the contract is expected to be awarded on a sole source basis to Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation (Cage Code 78286), the original equipment manufacturer. The government anticipates awarding one Indefinite Delivery Requirements Type Contract with firm-fixed pricing, structured as a one-year base period with two additional one-year option periods, for a maximum total duration of three years. The estimated total contract quantity encompasses 222 gearbox units to sustain approximately 51 aircraft in the Coast Guard's MH-60T fleet. All overhaul work and delivery must be coordinated with the USCG Aviation Logistics Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, with specific packaging and shipping requirements to ensure the components are Ready for Issue (RFI) upon delivery. Delivery orders will be issued as supplies are required and funding becomes available throughout the contract performance period.
