About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Contracting Command Redstone Arsenal (ACC-RSA) has issued a sole source special notice for an OpenAM Software License to support operations at the Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation and Missile Center's Prototype Integration Facility at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. This procurement is specifically for a one-year software license subscription for OpenAM Software, Part Number 155-55000, required to operate a Fortus 450MC 3D Printer currently in use at the facility's Additive Manufacturing Lab. The notice was posted on August 14, 2025, with responses due by August 20, 2025. The requirement falls under NAICS Code 513210 (Software Publishers) and is justified as sole source procurement under FAR provisions because OpenAM is identified as the only software capable of fulfilling the government's renewal requirement for this specific 3D printer system.
The primary objective of this notice is to procure a single-user OpenAM software license that will enable multiple users to work collaboratively on the Fortus 450MC 3D printer, with the period of performance running from September 30, 2025, to September 29, 2026. While this is designated as a sole source procurement, the government has indicated that all responsible sources may submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations for consideration in accordance with FAR regulations. Contractors interested in responding should note that no solicitation documents currently exist, phone calls will not be accepted, and the government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by parties responding to this notice. The procurement will be funded through Operations & Maintenance, Army (OMA) appropriations and structured as a fixed-price sole source purchase order through a GSA Blanket Purchase Agreement, with market research having confirmed no alternative vendors can meet the specific technical requirements.
