N00173-22-7300-RFI-SD
This acquisition involves working with highly-skilled ocean dynamics modeling that will incorporate innovative computational numerical techniques and data assimilation approaches to support OSD Code 7320. The scope of this effort encompasses data collection from near-real time, in situ underwater sensors or via remote sensing at high resolution, and assimilating data into reliable, three-dimensional models and multi-horizon or extended forecasts.
The Naval Research Lab (NRL) is posting a Request for Information (RFI) and seeking potential sources for planning purposes only. This notice is not a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quote (RFQ). No awards will be made from the responses to this announcement. The Government will not reimburse any costs associated with the development and submission of materials in response to this request and there is no solicitation available at this time. Should a requirement materialize, no basis for claims against NRL shall arise as a result of a response to this notice or NRL’s use of such information as either part of our evaluation process or in developing specifications for any subsequent requirement.
This will be the follow on to contract N00173-17-C-6011 which was awarded to Vencore, Inc. (now Perspecta Engineering).
Objective:
The NRL Ocean Science Division is searching for potential sources with the capability to perform the services set forth in the attached draft Statement of Work (SOW) entitled “Ocean Dynamics and Prediction Engineering and Software Development”. The intent of this RFI/Sources Sought is to gauge industry interest, capabilities, and relevant experience to support NRL personnel in providing the required services stated in the attached draft SOW.
Contract Type:
NRL anticipates this level of effort will be performed on a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee basis.
Competition Strategy:
Because this is a new requirement, NRL is exploring all competition strategies and will make a decision based on the results of this RFI. Federal multiple award schedule holders and/or small businesses are encouraged to reply.
