About this opportunity
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is conducting market research to identify qualified vendors for its E-112 Motor Operated Valve (MOV) Training Course, a specialized professional development program focused on nuclear reactor valve operations and maintenance. The training requires an in-person, instructor-led classroom experience for up to 15 students, with hands-on demonstrations in a training facility equipped with at least one LimitorqueTM Motor Operated Valve Actuator. Instructors must possess extensive expertise in reactor licensing and inspection activities, specifically with in-depth knowledge of MOV maintenance and operational history in nuclear power plants. Vendors must demonstrate capability to provide comprehensive training materials, classroom space, necessary protective equipment, and qualified instructional personnel with a minimum of 10 years of recent relevant experience. The sources sought notice is seeking responses that address potential conflicts of interest, pricing information, facility location, and potential subcontracting plans, with submissions due by February 26, 2025.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designations, welcoming responses from businesses of all sizes, including various small business categories. While no specific award value is mentioned, the training is structured as a five-day course with detailed requirements for instructor qualifications and technical capabilities. The procurement falls under NAICS category 611430 for Professional and Management Development Training, with a corresponding PSC code of U008 for Education/Training and Curriculum Development. The training program appears to be a critical component of nuclear regulatory professional development, focusing on ensuring thorough understanding of motor-operated valve systems and maintenance protocols in nuclear power plant environments. The NRC's market research approach suggests a comprehensive evaluation process aimed at identifying vendors with the most appropriate technical expertise and training capabilities.
