About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command issued a Notice of Intent to Sole Source repair and upgrade of the Wing Operation Center's Crestron audiovisual system at Malmstrom Air Force Base, with responses due July 9, 2026. The procurement is set aside for Total Small Business. The Air Force intends to award exclusively to Rhodes Research, the original developer and sole proprietor of the system's custom-engineered architecture and proprietary software source code, based on critical software failures that have disabled projectors and the substantial cost and operational delays that would result from competitive replacement by an alternative vendor.

The Statement of Objectives requires replacement of two ceiling-mounted projectors with 4K-capable units of 16,500 lumens minimum brightness, technical refresh of the Crestron AVoIP system with new encoders (DM-NVX-384 replacing DM-NVX-E30), decoder units (DM-NVX-350 replacement with native multi-window processing for twelve simultaneous sources), network switch upgrade to POE++ capability, and replacement of three touch panels with larger HD units. All work must be completed within 120 days of award at Building 500 Room 127, Malmstrom AFB, Montana. Deliverables include critical path schedule, owner's manuals, specifications, warranty documents, and as-built drawings. The contractor must provide a minimum 5-year warranty with optional extended service coverage and comply with Air Force and DoD network, telecommunications, and security standards.

Competing sources may submit written quotations, capability statements, or proposals by July 9, 2026 at 5:00 PM MDT to the 341st Missile Wing Contracting Squadron, presenting clear and convincing evidence that competition would benefit the government. Contact Jean-Denis Ducimetiere (406-731-4031, jean-denis.ducimetiere@us.af.mil) or Joshua Crist (406-731-3624, joshua.crist.1@us.af.mil).
