About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Space Command, specifically the 30th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Vandenberg Space Force Base, has issued a Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source a service repair for a Heavy Duty Box Machine (HBM72) with Serial #2100059. The notice indicates that T-ROC EQUIPMENT, L.C. is the sole manufacturer of the machine's parts and the only contractor qualified to perform installation, testing, and calibration for this upgrade. Market research supports the sole source determination, and the procurement falls under NAICS code 322211 for "Corrugated and Solid Fiber Box Manufacturing" with a business size standard of 1,250 employees. The primary goal is to restore the machine's functionality and ensure continued efficiency in warehouse packaging and shipping operations.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to notify potential contractors of the government's intent to award a sole source contract to T-ROC EQUIPMENT, L.C. while still allowing for potential alternative proposals. Interested parties have until March 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM PST to submit an interest letter demonstrating their ability to provide an equivalent supply. Contractors must provide a rationale explaining why they should be considered and prove they can deliver comparable services. The government will review any submissions received within 7 days of the notice's publication, with the ultimate determination of competition remaining at the government's discretion. Contractors should be aware that T-ROC's manufacturer warranty becomes void if any other entity attempts to service the equipment. The contact points for any questions or submissions are Chris Hummel, Contracting Officer, and Taylor Dunn, Contracting Specialist, from the 30th Contracting Squadron.
