About this opportunity
The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) Contracting Office issued a Notice of Intent to sole-source a repair and electrical conversion contract to Thunder Scientific Corporation, with responses due by July 14, 2026. This is a non-compete procurement; Thunder Scientific is the only source capable of providing OEM repair, 220 VAC conversion, and in-tolerance OEM operational performance testing traceable to NIST standards for the Thunder Scientific Model 2500ST Two-Pressure Humidity Generator (Serial Number 0308393) owned by PSNS & IMF Calibration Lab. The work requires OEM-proprietary alignment, calibrations, troubleshooting software, and replacement parts; failure to maintain the equipment in calibrated status through the OEM would result in loss of NAVSEA certification for the calibration laboratory, creating severe mission impact to Naval Fleet Forces operations.
The firm fixed price service contract is expected to be awarded under FAR 12.102(a) with performance from July 31, 2026 through October 30, 2026. Work may be performed at Thunder Scientific's facility or on-site at PSNS in non-nuclear areas, with on-site contractor personnel required to be U.S. citizens with valid identification. The contractor must comply with ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001 standards, provide calibration certificates valid for at least 12 months from completion, and deliver detailed repair documentation. NAICS 811210; PSC J066.
