About this opportunity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has published a Special Notice indicating its intent to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Terra15 Technologies Pty Ltd for the upgrade of the agency's existing Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) Interrogator equipment. Terra15 is the original equipment manufacturer and owns the proprietary technology required to perform the upgrades.

The purpose of this Special Notice is to inform interested parties of the CDC's plan to upgrade the DAS Interrogator and to provide an opportunity for submissions from potential vendors. The anticipated award date is August 15, 2024, and interested parties have 7 days from the notice issuance to submit proposals, though this is not a request for competitive quotations. Eligibility is limited to Terra15 Technologies Pty Ltd, as they are the only vendor capable of performing the proprietary upgrades needed to increase the unit's sensitivity and sensing range. The sole source justification is based on the unique and specialized nature of the equipment, as outlined in the attached government file.
