About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Medical Command's Health Readiness Contracting Office has issued a Notice of Intent to execute a sole source award for MRI technologist services at Fort Meade, Maryland. The contract will provide six Full Time Equivalent Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists to support the Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center through a six-month bridge contract from July 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025. The procurement is being conducted under FAR 13.501 authority for "Only One Responsible Source" and will be awarded to the incumbent contractor, Legacy Management Solutions, LLC. The contract is set aside for Total Small Business and falls under the General Medical and Surgical Hospitals NAICS category. The notice was posted on June 26, 2025, with responses due by June 30, 2025.
The sole source justification stems from delays in the Defense Health Agency's Medical Q-Coded Services 2 Next Generation (MQS2-NG) contract, which was under protest until May 22, 2025, preventing a competitive solicitation process. The bridge contract ensures continuity of critical medical imaging services while the government prepares to competitively solicit the requirement using the mandatory MQS2-NG contracting vehicle by July 15, 2025. Contractors must possess current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification, specific MRI certification, and at least one year of hands-on clinical experience within the past two calendar years. The services will be provided seven days per week across day, night, and weekend shifts. The contract includes an option to extend services under FAR Clause 52.217-8, allowing flexibility while transitioning to the competitive procurement process.
