About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 21 issued a Notice of Intent to sole source the Iridex CYCLO-G6 Laser System for the VA San Francisco Health Care System Oakland Community-Based Outpatient Clinic Eye Clinic, with a quote deadline of June 12, 2026 at 12:00 PM PDT. This procurement is restricted to sole-source award under FAR 13.1061(b)(1)(i) and 41 USC 1901; the VA determined that only one source is reasonably available to supply the system with required components and OEM specifications.
The acquisition supports glaucoma treatment using MicroPulse Cyclophotocoagulation. The Iridex CYCLO-G6 delivers proprietary MicroPulse laser technology with 810 nm infrared wavelength, treatment power of 50–3,000 mW, and integration into existing VA ophthalmic workflows. Market research confirmed no competing government-wide or VA-specific contract vehicles stock this brand-name system. One Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, L1 Enterprises, was identified as capable of supplying the required equipment.
The estimated contract value is $33,666.48. The Statement of Work requires delivery and installation within three months, on-site training for laser-certified ophthalmologists, and a 12-month warranty. Line items include the laser system, four safety glasses, one box of six G-Probe RFID devices, and one box of six MicroPulse P3 devices. Delivery is FOB Destination to 4150 Clement Street, San Francisco, California 94121.
Businesses believing they can supply required items or equivalents may submit a written capability statement to Janetra.Johnson@va.gov and Edward.Hunter@va.gov. All responsible sources may submit a quotation for consideration. The Government retains sole discretion to proceed with the sole-source award or reopen competition based on responses received.
