About this opportunity

The Federal Aviation Administration's Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center intends to award a single-source contract to United States Technologies Inc. for ARSR-4 RF Transfer Switches (P/N 159C264H01) to support the ARSR-4 System, with an industry comment period closing July 31, 2026. This procurement is sole-source and carries no set-aside.

The contract covers replenishment of serviceable stock levels across forty-four ARSR-4 radar sites plus forty-four additional sites of spares. The RF Transfer Switch assembly is a form-fit and functional replacement for an obsolete legacy unit; the FAA developed and procured the replacement design with UST in 2022, followed by an initial production purchase of fourteen units. This procurement increases inventory to support ongoing operations and maintenance.

Place of performance involves support for the ARSR-4 radar system network. The NAICS code is 334511 (Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing); PSC is 5840 (Radar Equipment, Except Airborne). The FAA bases its single-source determination on the prior development relationship with UST, the specialized nature of the replacement unit, and the absence of alternative qualified suppliers for this particular component. No competitive solicitation will be issued. Questions should be directed to Contract Specialist Nina Musser at nina.j.musser@faa.gov by 3 p.m. Eastern Time on July 24, 2026.
