About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command, specifically the 9th Contracting Squadron, has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to execute a single-source procurement action with Gastops, Inc. for troubleshooting and repairing a ChipCHECK engine analysis unit. The procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1), which allows solicitation from a single source. Gastops, Inc. has been identified as the sole authorized distributor for repairing the ChipCHECK engine analysis unit used in the U-2S aircraft system. The 9th Contracting Squadron will evaluate any inquiries received, though the determination to proceed with a non-competitive procurement remains at the government's discretion.

The primary objective of this special notice is to repair an inoperative ChipCHECK Engine Analysis Unit with new software to restore its functionality for Master Chip Detector wear analysis, preventing potential catastrophic failures and equipment loss. The procurement is a one-time repair action with no follow-on acquisitions planned, targeting a specific technical issue in the U-2S aircraft system. Contractors should note the notice was posted on March 19, 2025, with a response deadline of March 26, 2025. Eligibility is effectively limited to Gastops, Inc., as they are the original equipment manufacturer with exclusive repair rights. The government will not reimburse any costs associated with providing capability information, and all inquiries will be evaluated solely to determine whether a competitive procurement is feasible. The procurement falls under the Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing NAICS category and Laboratory Equipment and Supplies PSC category.
