About this opportunity
The General Services Administration (GSA) Public Buildings Service is seeking to lease approximately 44,000 to 44,121 assignable square feet of office space in Grand Rapids, Michigan's central business district. The procurement is being conducted to address an expiring lease on the Government's current office space and to evaluate whether alternative space would be more economically advantageous. Key contract requirements include the space being fully serviced with four structured parking spaces, compliance with federal standards for fire safety, accessibility, seismic resilience, and sustainability, and the space must not be located in any designated floodplain. The Government will evaluate alternatives based on economic advantage, considering relocation costs including physical move expenses, tenant improvement replication, telecommunications infrastructure, and agency downtime. Critical deadlines include Expressions of Interest due April 27, 2026, a market survey estimated for April 29, 2026, and formal offers due May 18, 2026, with estimated occupancy of October 1, 2026.
This solicitation has no set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractor information is provided in the available documents. The lease term is 24 months firm with no option periods, representing a two-year commitment for the Government's office operations in Grand Rapids. The specific geographic area is bounded by 6th Street/Newberry Street/Bradford Street to the north, Wealthy Street to the south, Scribner Avenue and US 131 to the west, and Lafayette Avenue to the east. Prospective lessors must register in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) and comply with Section 889 of the FY19 National Defense Authorization Act regarding telecommunications prohibitions. Interested parties should submit responses to Winfred Harris, Leasing Specialist, at winfred.harris@gsa.gov, with Christopher Tinari serving as the Lease Contracting Officer.
