About this opportunity
The Federal Bureau of Investigation issued a notice of intent to award a sole-source purchase order to Ash Technologies US, LLC for four Omni Vantage 4K Digital Microscope systems, with a capability statement submission deadline of July 23, 2026 at 7:00 AM EST. The FBI's Technical Exploitation Unit seeks procurement under FAR 6.302-1 (Only One Responsible Source), citing standardization requirements across inspection operations and the Omni platform's unique combination of ultra-high-definition 4K imaging, extended working distance exceeding 150 mm, zero-latency processing, integrated image-stacking capability, and magnification range of 2.7–61.6x optical and 61.6d–123d digital. The FBI currently operates an existing Omni system and requires additional instruments to meet growing workload demands while preserving uniform workflows and operator proficiency. Market research found no competing systems offering the complete integration of required capabilities. Delivery will occur at the FBI facility at 4940 Fowler Road, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. The procurement includes articulated arm stands, 27-inch 4K monitors, Image Stacking App Software licenses, and shipping. Although this is a sole-source notice, all responsible sources may submit capability statements or proposals demonstrating that competition would be advantageous; submissions must show clear and convincing evidence of competitive benefit. The NAICS code is 334516 (Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing) and PSC is 6640 (Laboratory Equipment and Supplies).
