About this opportunity

This Special Notice was published by the U.S. Geological Survey to announce its intent to award a noncompetitive contract. The USGS intends to negotiate a purchase order with SGS-AXYS Analytical Services, Ltd. for contaminant analyses in various samples, including solid sediment, SPMD passive samplers, and POCIS passive samplers.

The purpose of this notice is to satisfy FAR requirements by announcing the USGS' intent to award a contract on a sole source basis to SGS-AXYS Analytical Services, Ltd. The contract is for contaminant analyses in a maximum of 21 solid sediment samples, 8 SPMD passive samplers, and 3 POCIS passive samplers during the wet season. Responses to this notice are due by December 19, 2023 at 2:00 pm Pacific Time to be considered, though no solicitation will be issued as the USGS has determined SGS-AXYS to be the only qualified source able to meet its requirements for ultra-trace contaminant analysis, ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, and methodological consistency with previous analyses. The contract is expected to be awarded by the stated deadline and last 60 days to support a FEMA mission assignment requiring analytical services that can accommodate its timeline, complexity, scope, and special requirements.
