About this opportunity
The Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Fort Gordon, Georgia has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to award a sole-source contract to NIDA Corporation located in Melbourne, Florida. The Department of the Army Materiel Command is seeking to procure specialized cables and connectors for laboratory use, specifically a Solder Component Kit (NIDA Part# 96901410) and a 1459 Component Kit (NIDA Part# 96901459). The contract falls under NAICS code 334418 for Printed Circuit Assembly Manufacturing and will be executed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13 and Commercial procedures under FAR Part 12. The contracting authority cites FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) as justification for the non-competitive award. This notice explicitly states it is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation will be issued.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to provide transparency regarding the Army's intent to make a sole-source award while allowing other potential contractors an opportunity to demonstrate that competition would benefit the Government. Interested parties must submit written responses by 10:00 AM on September 8, 2025, providing clear and convincing evidence that opening the requirement to competition would be advantageous to the Government. Oral communications will not be accepted in response to this notice. If no qualifying written responses are received by the deadline, the Army will proceed with awarding the contract to NIDA Corporation without further notice. The Government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete this requirement, and contractors must meet the burden of proving that competition would serve the Government's interests better than the planned sole-source approach.
