About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health, specifically the National Human Genome Research Institute Molecular Genetics Section, intends to award a firm-fixed-price purchase order for laboratory services supporting preclinical research, with award anticipated approximately ten days after the October 15, 2026 notice date under FAR Part 6.302-1 (single source justification). Small businesses, including 8(a) firms, service-disabled veteran-owned, HUBZone, small disadvantaged, veteran-owned, and women-owned small businesses, may submit written capability statements by 3:00 p.m. EDT on October 21, 2026, to david.shen@nih.gov demonstrating ability to perform the requirement; if such a business demonstrates capability, the Government may award to that vendor instead of the incumbent.

The work comprises mouse tissue histology processing and histopathology staining, along with AAV9 antibody screening of mouse serum samples in support of a preclinical trial testing efficacy and safety of therapeutic adenine DNA base editing administered via Adeno-Associated Virus 9 in a humanized mouse model of Hutchinson Gilford Progeria Syndrome. The services support an FDA Investigational New Drug application for SamPro-2, intended for Phase 1/2 clinical trials in HGPS patients. All work must incorporate Good Laboratory Practice-compliant documentation. NAICS 541380 (Testing Laboratories and Services); PSC Q301 (Reference Laboratory Testing).
