About this opportunity
The USDA Forest Service has issued a Sources Sought Notice for market research to identify potential vendors capable of providing comprehensive facility and food services for the Northeast Guard School. The agency seeks a facility that can accommodate 80-90 students with compliant residential housing, classroom space equipped for educational activities, and food services capable of preparing and serving three meals daily for 100+ students in accordance with USDA National School Lunch and Breakfast Program standards. The facility must be located within 45 minutes of La Grande, Oregon and meet all applicable safety, accessibility, and health regulations including ADA compliance and fire safety codes. Interested vendors must submit a five-page electronic response by June 6, 2025, at 5:00 PM EDT, including company overview, facility capabilities, food service experience, and availability confirmation. The submission should detail the organization's business status, compliance with relevant standards, meal service experience including sample menus and staffing plans, and ability to provide services during the specified timeframe.
This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designations and no incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the notice. While specific contract values or budget ranges are not disclosed, the scope involves providing residential housing for 80-90 students, classroom facilities for the same number, and meal services for over 100 individuals daily. The services are required for a specific five-day period from June 16-20, 2025, indicating this is likely a short-term training program or educational event. The facility must have the capacity to serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily while accommodating various dietary restrictions including vegetarian and allergen-free options. This market research effort will inform the agency's decision on whether to proceed with a formal competition for these services.
